3/4-page-size printed etching of The Beauchamp Chapel, suitable for framing. Pages 405-410 (an incomplete chapter on St Mary's, Warwick) reclaimed from "Cathedrals, Abbeys, and Churches of England And Wales", edited by Prof. T.G. Bonney, D.SC., LL.D., F.R.S., Hon. Canon of Manchester, published by Cassell & Company Ltd (no date on the title page, but googling indicates late 19th century). The pages had quite a musty odour when first brought home -- they're greatly improved after a good airing, but could benefit from a bit longer as a faint trace remains. Otherwise, they have some slight yellowish staining in small patches. It’s hard to see whether one of these creeps onto the edge of the etching itself, but if so, it’s not obviously noticeable. My camera has caused some colour distortions to the image: the page is light cream and the typeface a clear & crisp black.

I bought this book already disbound at an antiquarian collector's stall, hoping to repair it for personal use, but when I got it home I found that it was missing sections, ranging from whole chapters to individual pages & prints, so is of little use to anyone as an incomplete though still rather large volume. I decided to keep whatever etchings & info would illustrate my own family history research and was going to recycle the rest, when it occurred to me that other people might also be interested in different sections, since the artwork is in good enough shape to be frame-able. I emphatically don't believe in vandalising books and did not dismantle this one for resale purposes, though I have separated some interior pages to keep related segments together, as it seemed a shame to bin something so beautiful and potentially useful to someone else.

Approximate measurements of full page: 8.5" / 21.5cm across x 10.75" / 27.3cm down.
