Is it myth, fable or just romancing a stone of historical fact?

The very name conjures up visions of chivalry and magic, romance and adventure.

In British legend, Camelot was the capital of the Kingdom of King Arthur whose vast territory stretched from Scotland through Northern England and Wales to Cornwall.

King Arthur was one of the greatest figures in English folklore, who lived in the late 5th and early 6th centuries at a time when Britain was the scene of the final bloody struggles for domination between British Celts and Saxon invaders. With help from Merlin, his advisor, prophet and magician, Arthur drew Excalibur, the 'Sword of Destiny', from the stone and won the crown.

Being a Christian warrior, King Arthur led a band of 28 'Knights of the Round Table'. One of these knights was Lancelot whose love for Arthur's wife, the beautiful Guinevere, resulted in the eventual break up of the 'Round Table'.

Here stands with wisdom and knowledge, at one with nature our Bearded Collie Merlin. The owl completes the splendid irony when indeed the suggested heraldic coat of arms for Merlin would have been three owls argent.
