Bear Brand Stockings - vintage Christmas gift envelope, c1960.

This is a wonderful vintage 10" x 7 ½" envelope that was once intended to be used to put a packet of Bear Brand stockings inside at Christmas time to give as a present. The paper is very good quality, as is the printing with the scene of the Teddy Bears having a Christmas picnic on the front and another Wintery scene on the back with the Bear children taking the picnic hamper home on their sledge with Daddy Bear looking over them. On this side there is a sign-post with the words To and From on it so that the person giving the stockings could write his name on it etc. It is in perfect condition so I don't think it was ever used. There is no indication of a date but it must be from around 1960 and it is far more attractive than the actual packets of stockings that would have been put in the envelopes at the time. I guess that it would have been given to the purchaser of stockings at a retail shop to use at his / her discretion.

Postage in the UK is £1.
Worldwide airmail is £2.
