You are bidding on a Bauer Royal 8E Macro Super8 camera that, as far as I know, is in full working order. I am selling it as though it works completely fine; I have paperwork accompanying the camera that relates to a full overhaul/repair/service it received in 2005. The camera hasn't been used since then.
The camera comes with a leather case and rubber eye-cup and is perfect for a super8 fanatic who will already understand that this is one of the best models of super8 camera available.
This camera runs on 6 ordinary AA batteries.
It features a very useful second light meter that swings out from the side of the body. This is used in extremely low light conditions in conjunction with a timer function that allows each frame of film to be exposed for a calculated length of time to render an image. You will need a tripod to use this feature.
The camera is extremely handsome, with a rounded, black and silver body and well-styled details.
Other than the timer function, the Royal 8E Makro offers a variable shutter, single frame, 12, 18, 24, and 54fps capabilities and macro shots. The
aperture can be set manually from the top of the camera or left in auto mode.
The zoom is good on the camera, but is quite fast so it might be best to use it to set up shots rather than during filming.
Over the years I have spent a lot of money on this camera; it has been well looked after, frequently repaired and carefully stored. I have moved away from film-making however, and would now like to sell this camera to anyone who wants to explore the possibilities of super8.
I cannot supply a manual with this camera, unfortunately, but I am sure there are places online where you can hunt one down!
