AIR FILTER FAQs
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A PERFORMANCE AIR FILTER?
Standard engine air filters are constructed of thick paper and are highly restrictive on airflow into the engine which is detrimental to performance. Performance air filters replace the standard paper air filter and the plastic box that contains it with a high flow performance air filter with a material made of cotton or stainless steel. Additionally they give a nice induction roar.
WHY BUY A UNIVERSAL FILTER INSTEAD OF A CAR SPECIFIC ONE?
Universal air filters can be hugely cheaper than car specific ones and as long as you buy follow the guidelines as to whether or not one of the universal kits will be suitable for your car they are just as easy to fit as a car specific kit.
WILL A UNIVERSAL AIR FILTER FIT MY CAR?
We supply 3 types of universal air filter as follows:
1. Universal Air Filters with no fitting kit that are generally used with other fittings purchased separately or can fit directly to a vehicle's intake pipe that is 76mm diameter. Not suitable for vehicle's that have airflow meters connected to the airbox.
2. Universal Air Filter Packs that are supplied with a range of fitting adaptors that allow them to be fitted to a variety of sized intake pipes. Not suitable for vehicle's that have airflow meters connected to the airbox.
3. Universal Induction Kits consist of a performance filter and pipework that replaces the standard pipework. This is a complete replacement for the car's original parts. Again these are supplied with a variety of adaptors. Not suitable for vehicle's that have airflow meters connected to the airbox/pipework or where the intake is square (square adaptors available separately).
PERFORMANCE EXHAUST FAQs
WILL A UNIVERSAL EXHAUST BACKBOX FIT MY CAR?
The universal backboxes we sell are supplied complete with adaptor and bracket. They should fit with no problems at all average sized vehicles with a single exit exhaust. Fitting an exhaust does require some technical skill and we do recommend that for best fit an exhaust technician fits it as some welding may be required.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A PERFORMANCE BACKBOX?
As with performance air filters, performance exhaust aid airflow and can in turn help increase performance. Additionally they give a nice roaring exhaust note.
PERFORMANCE GAUGE FAQs
ARE THE PERFORMANCE GAUGES ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL?
Mechanical gauges: Boost PSI, Boost BAR, Vacuum
Electrical gauges: Oil pressure, Water temperature, Oil temperature, Voltmeter, Tachometer
IS A FITTING KIT SUPPLIED?
Gauge are supplied with fittings required to fit to most cars and fitting instructions.
