A-Grade Barco 701 projector with circa 4500 chassis hours. Cant remember the exact value but around 4500. Excellent general condition apart from slight deposits on the blue tube glycol - visible when looking into tube but does not visually interrupt the output image - there are fixes for this that can be found online on how to correct this - otherwise an excellent, low hour fully working projector.
Tubes are all clear of burn / providing a sharp image consistent with low use. No electronic problems on the projector boards. Fully functional and with excellent tubes. We have tested with a computer generated signal at 1024x760 and 60hz (input 5 4 and 3)
For cheaper units there are other units listed. This auction is guarenteeing a certain quality level and lower runtimes as described above.
Standard listing and recommendation from a prior customer follows.
hi there, I looked through a sellers feedback and notice you bought a barco projector... im looking at the same from the same dealer, but before I commit my money, just wondered if they were ok? Is it working well? Hope you dont mind me asking.
Many thanks in anticipation

Dear Mike,
Must be your lucky day as I knew something about CRT projectors before I bought mine.
I've CC'ed UPS Trader - First off; I have to say hand on heart I have no links with this guy and no reason to lie. Me and professional people I work with have had absolutely no problem with UPS Trader whatsoever - Do buy from him, he is what eBay is about.
I work as a 3D animator for xxxxx and our video editor's system runs off his UPS power supply. We are based in xxxxxxxx and power is a problem here - not anymore!
Okay, projectors; Be aware this ain't no silly little LCD or DLP 'HD' model, these are the real deal. They are BIG and bloody heavy - me and the delivery guy almost got hernias getting it over my front wall on the palette it was strapped to! It weighs around 12 stone.
The one I bought will do HD but I have not pushed it that far. DVD on S-Video is fine - don't use composite, it will notice on an 11 foot screen such I now use. People I know who own HD DLP projectors regularly are blown away at the colour resolution of this thing.
The model I have was owned by the MoD (Ministry of Defence) before. I used to work for xxxx xxxx (valve super hifi) and know a lot about valves. The average life is around 11 years constant use and the same is true of cathode ray tubes (CRTs). That said, these have a usage of 6 months and have been regularly serviced by MoD contractors. In fact I know another guy that did this work - some of these models come from the Cabinet Office war room - often used by secretaries (including xxxxxx, now retired) to watch Neighbours at lunchtime.
Okay, in a nut shell: Valve hifi is big, so are these beasts. If you have room for it and are prepared to spend some time setting it up then you are on to a winner. The RGB convergence is everything with these projectors. Once set up they tend to drift a bit but then settle down.
Any questions please mail me, no problem at all!
Regards,
Richard

As you can see in the videos (that screen is approx 9 foot diagonal, for reference) they display a truly great image, better than any LCD/DLP but they are big, and were very expensive to buy. Now you can have one of ours so cheap its unbelievable.
CRT projectors are the ultimate light projection technolgy. Though bigger and heavier than lcd / dlp projectors, they give better colour, a continuous (not chicken wired) flicker free image, and BLACK blacks. Contrast ratios of 10000:1 instead of 400:1 on standard LCD projectors, with very usable brightness levels. Films will look better than ever before, better than at the cinema, games with 12 foot screens are totally immersive, and in boardrooms, presentations will give that quality assured impression that comes from using top quality components. Everybody can respect something that is technologically top of the line. These, the smallest CRT projectors dont even look out of place in a bedroom or any room with white ceiling.
The 701 gives all the advantages of CRT technology, but in a smaller, lighter case than can normally be expected.
Accepts input from pc via 5 bnc (leads for standard pc connnection included in this actuon). Ran it at 1024x768, gave a great picture. The lead I supply will overcome the normal sync on green or combined sync issues, simply plug into your HD-15 source (computers / wifi boxes / adapters available for PS2 Gamecube xbox 360 etc) and play! Here is a link to a cable you can use to connect the XBOX.
Fully tested (no fixes required - was maintained by a barco engineer throughout its lifetime). Converged and then left to test for convergence drift problems, none. Provides a good stable image.
Sale price includes VAT, VGA -> BNC cable, power cable and remote control. I plan to only ship these on sized pallets as they are delicate, and precious. This will incur a higer than normal shipping charge, so to make things easier I will make myself available for pickups whenever possible.
I have a CRT projector at home I can tell you that the experience when watching films is stunning. I replaced a top of the line barco reality 6500 (a 4500 lumen, 1280x1024 lcd projector) which I thought was about as good as it got, and to be honest I was amazed at the difference. CRT all the way from now on!
George lucas, and Stephen Speilberg chose BARCO CRT projectors for their homes.
