Banksia Grandis
(Bull Banksia) 
 
 
Banksia grandis, belongs to the Proteaceae family and habitats Western Australia where the species is found in the south west corner.

Bull Banksia is the common name of this large shrub or small tree. The bark is rough and grey in colour. This stunning plant has large leaves which are divided into triangular segments. Young growth may be bright red.
The cylindrical flower heads can grow upto 40cm long by 10cm wide. The flowers are greenish-yellow aging to bright yellow. The cones, that follow the flowers, are large, dense and have many follicles (a dry fruit holding two winged seeds). Not only does this plant produce stunning flowers but also very attractive foliage.
Banksia grandis appreciates well-drained soil in either full sun or part/shade, water well during dry periods.
The species tolerate frost and is hardy to minus -5 without damage.
 

The plant you will receive is growing in a 9cm pot ready to be potted on to a larger pot/container for display and water well during dry periods
