Balau is a hardwood native to Asia where, given its durability, it is widely used within the construction industry. Over recent years it has significantly increased in popularity in both Europe and America, with high end customers recognizing the attributes that make it particularly suitable for use in decking products.

Balau is naturally pest resistant, has good preservation qualities and is extremely dense. The result is a heavy duty board that lasts far longer than its softwood equivalents.

Balau is also incredibly attractive. The boards vary from a uniform light to mid brown, and typically boast a fine interlocked grain.

As with all decking, Balau can be fixed using screws through the face of the board. If you wish to maintain an uninterrupted aesthetic, however, we recommend our exclusive ArchiDeck hidden deck fastening system.

Each ArchiDeck clip is screwed into your sub frame, with either side slotted into adjoining boards. The required slot can be cut manually using a biscuit jointer, or alternatively we are able to pre-groove decking supplied by ourselves at 59p per linear metre.

This listing is for Balau decking boards that are 145mm wide and 21mm thick, with a smooth profile both sides. Typically, the lengths we keep in stock are between 2 and 5 metres. Whilst the exact lengths we have available can vary, we will always do our best to meet your requirements.
