Hi Margaret, I'm just letting you know that I received my Freedom sling (Murron's Pouch) today.  I am 30 weeks pregnant but also have a 10 month old baby and bought this sling for the new arrival for ease with breastfeeding etc whilst tending to my son, Louie.  I decided to give him a go in it as he's not been too well today and we are both so impressed that he hasn't been out of it all day!  I have recommended it to 2 couples in the garden centre as they were also impressed and I could see people commenting all the way round.  I have struggled to get out on little walks as any other sling gets in the way of my bump but now I have the freedom to go wherever I want with my little one and it doesn't kill my back.  I have also pegged out the washing and done some housework with Louie on my side, which wouldn’t have been possible with the mood he's been in (not to mention a temperature of 39.3'c). Hi there, 

I've been meaning to write to you ever since I received my sling last Autumn to let you know how much I love it. I went to your website to buy a Freedom Sling, but once I saw the Murron's Pouch, I thought it would suit me better as I was a bit intimidated by the adjusting of the Freedom Sling. The Murron's Pouch has been such a great item. It fits in my hand bag and is so compact, sometimes I think I've forgotten it, when it's right there! My little baby girl, who is now 6 months old, has loved it since we got it. I use it at toddler groups when I need my hands free to manage my little 2 year old boy, but don't want to leave my baby unsupervised. I use it when I'm in the midst of cooking dinner and my baby wants my attention. I use it when I have to go to the doctor's office with both of my children and I don't want to bother with the pram in a small area. I use it when she's tired and cranky when I'm visiting friends to help her fall asleep. Everywhere I go people admire her in her sling and want to know what it is and where I got it from. It's so easy to use and her weight is so evenly distributed, I never get physically tired of carrying her. Thank you thank you thank you for creating such a simple but perfect solution.

Hi Margaret. Just wanted to say thanks for the slings, they are great. I have used them all weekend on a camping trip and they caught many peoples eye. My twins are 12 weeks old now so I was worried they wouldn't like them but they snuggled straight in and went to sleep. I have been able to lift my 2 year old daughter in and out of her cot whilst wearing them and also took her in a baby swimming pool and was able to hold her hand and pull her through the water without having to leave the twins unattended in their pram. I even gave one to my mum who was adamant she wouldn't be able to keep hold of the baby and before long she had forgotten she had him. But best of all they have allowed me a lot more contact with my babies, as I've found the downside of having twins is you don't get to spend cuddle time with them. Why choose a Freedom Sling?

I began Freedom Slings in 2004, following the birth of my ninth daughter. I had breastfed my other eleven children and could not believe that my twelfth baby would be any different. Was I in for a rude awakening? Even with all of my experience of breastfeeding (which included tandem feeding!), Saoirse and I really struggled and I was on the point of giving up when I tried a sling. I couldn’t find one on the market that would allow me to breastfeed completely hands-free, but I could see the potential difference that it could make. I had a look around at different sling types and found that the easiest way was to go back to basics and so made my own padded sling that allowed for completely hands-free breastfeeding. (This original sling type is still my best selling sling on our website.)

I had so many people stop me whilst I was feeding Saoirse (and usually filling a shopping trolley at the same time!!) that I decided to sell them…..and thus Freedom Slings was born.

My objective was to provide high quality slings at an affordable price that would help other parents and carers the way mine had done for me. I was overwhelmed by the reception my slings received and so from humble beginnings we now have a family run business where different types of slings are now manufactured to the highest standards here in Scotland. My outlook still remains the same….to offer help and support and quality products that are affordable and readily available to all families. We are not profit driven but recognize the need for sustainability and are happy to work with specially selected suppliers who feel like we do about helping make the world (especially the commercial world!) a better place for all.

This sling is a custom made fitted sling and therefore it is important that you order the correct size. The most accurate way to do this is to actually measure yourself to ensure the best fit.

See picture for the best way to measure. Alternatively you may use the chart below as a guide but if only using the chart you should take the following into account: if you are large busted or tall you may require a larger size or if you are small busted and small framed then you may require a smaller size. Chest sizes are measured under your armpits, and around your chest. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further advice or assistance. Please note that slings can be exchanged for fitting purposes as long as they are returned in an unwashed as new condition.

We make slings to accomodate ALL sizes and not just those on the sizing chart. If you need a sling size outwith these sizes, we offer a custom make service at no extra cost. Just email the size that you need BEFORE purchasing in order to get an estimated time scale for your order and then buy from the listing as normal.
