This gorgeous seated tortoiseshell cat was produced at the Babbacombe Pottery at the height of its success by Philip Laureston. With that smile, he certainly looks like the cat who got the cream!

It's beautifully hand painted in dark chocolate, fawn and ochre on white, with light green eyes, a pink nose and inner ears.

It's just under 4"/10cm tall and bears Laureston's distinctive initial on the base.

The condition's excellent, with no cracks, chips, crazing or restoration work.

It would make a beautiful addition to anyone's collection.
