The DSPXtreme is the newest addition to the BW Broadcast DSPX range of audio processors.

The success of the DSPX Series challenged us to go one better. To create a processor for the most competitive of markets, where programmers and engineers need the finest tools to create on-air audio signatures.

Meet the DSPXtreme-FM, our most advanced FM processor yet and your visa to higher ratings. Behind the elegant front panel with its touch-screen control are 24 DSPs to keep your station’s sound loud, clean and consistent. With the DSPXtreme-FM, you can achieve the most open and fatigue-free sound with deep bass and transient punch.

We designed the six-band, program-dependent limiter from the ground up, and it works in concert with the intelligent four band RMS leveller with intelligent gating and anti-aliased multi-band clippers to produce high average modulation and precise peak control that is artefact free. With parametric and shelf bass enhancement, as well as composite clipping with pilot protection, the DSPXtreme-FM puts you in complete control of your signal.

BW Broadcast’s proven presets, as well as intuitive local and remote interfaces help you get your DSPXtreme-FM on air fast. Whether you are a processing novice or expert, you’ll easily achieve a signature sound for your station’s format. And as you have come to expect from BW Broadcast, the DSPXtreme-FM is designed for unsurpassed reliability and trouble-free operation in the world’s most challenging installations.

Dual front panel touch screen LCD screens aid setup and operation. As with all BW Broadcast FM processors, the DSPXtreme-FM has BW Broadcasts’ world-class stereo encoder, a real-time clock for preset scheduling, preset A/B switching, plus serial and TCP/IP remote control interfaces and both analogue and AES/EBU digital inputs with configurable silence switching.

The BW Broadcast DSPX Series presents a carefully developed series of processors, with a version designed to exactly meet your needs and budget. The DSPXtreme-FMHD version is for stations using digital radio services, such as HD Radio, DAB, DRM or Internet streaming. Effectively two processors in one, the digital services second path incorporates a bit rate optimized, look-ahead limiter and is tapped via analogue and AES/EBU digital output connectors. An adjustable 14 second delay allows for synchronisation of the FM and HD outputs for full compatibly with all HD radio transmission setups.
