A COLORFUL BUTTERFLY BOTTLE

This little bottle looks handpainted under its clear glaze.  The bright blue is so striking-- it surrounds the entire outside edge, which is about 1/2".  The bottle, across the wingspan at its widest, measures 3 3/4".  I've shown both front and back in the pictures, but they're so similar you have to look closely.  The central part of the butterfly is a pale green with black line details and red dot eyes.  The wings and their intricacies are hinted at in black thin lines and dots and made lovely with yellow, orange, red and white.  It's decorations are rather abstract, but on the whole create a bright and cheerful little piece.  There is no stopper with this bottle.  A small cork could be used.

The butterfly has no cracks, chips or damages that I can see.  It also has no obvious marks of origin or manufacture.  Knowing that this is part of a collection that my father aqcuired piece by piece, I assume that the bottle wouldn't have been made any later than 1960 and possibly quite a few years before.
