BURLINGTON WARE CHARACTER/TOBY JUG

Up for auction I have this wonderful character jug made by Burlington Ware, Shaw & Sons called "Cavalier".    

The jug is just over 7 inches high and is in lovely all round condition. There is nothing worse than plenty of the usual minor, very fine age related surface crazing and a small surface paint slither off where the bottom of the handle meets his back (see photo) which could easily be touched up if required. There are a couple of thin pale areas at the bottom of his cloak but these are not damage, just how it was painted and glazed over. The colours are strong and bright.

It is fully stamped underneath (see photo). Ignore the dark patch in the middle of the stamp photo - this was just part of s sticky label which has now been removed. 

A rare, very collectable jug.
