A VERY RARE VICTORIAN SOLID SILVER 'SWEETHEART' BROOCH DATED 1897c

This is a rare find. A Victorian SWEETHEART brooch which some Victorian lover would have made for his lady. I have never seen one before so this is a good opportunity to buy something really beautiful for your loved one. Sadly the fastening pin is missing (this happened often with these old pieces) but this can easily be rectified by a professional jeweller. If it was me I would have the pin replaced and also I would have a small bale fixed so that the brooch could be worn as a pendant.

The piece is solid silver and the hallmark tells us that it is Birmingham silver with a date of 1897c. (see picture two).

The brooch measures just two inches in length and is a dagger with a heart on the hilt beautifully etched leading down to the blade on which is a delightful spray of flowers and leaves going around. (picture three shows this in close up).

A great gift idea to have refurbished and given as a Christmas Gift to your loved one.

I do not have the original box but will send the item in a pretty, lined gift box safely by registered post. Please allow for the present postal difficulties.

Many thanks for looking.
