What is mammoth tusk?

The plains of Siberia have given up 40 full body woolly mammoth specimens to date. Extinct for over 10,000 years this magnificent beast grew tusks up to 16 feet in length. The tusks alone however are found in abundance. (20,000 kilo was excavated last year) The tusk material is now in huge demand and sent to Japan as a carving material for netsuke and the like.

This is non restricted Mammoth tusk - mammuthus primigenius - country of origin - Russia - approved for world-wide sale by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Dept via official Cites import certificate.
