Bookworm

Inspired by the Opie collection of children’s literature housed in Oxford’s Bodleian Library, this delightful game is fun and challenging for all the family.
Young children are often more skilled than adults at listening casrefully and recalling the specific details of a story, so Bookworm can be played as equals by players of very different ages. And where a child cannot yet read, players can play in teams.

In turn, players throw a dice and move around the board starting with square A and ending at square Z.
In your turn, if you land on a question square, you will be read a passage from one of the cards, and immediately asked up to four questions about that passage. Each time you answer a question correctly, you may move forward to the next letter of the alphabet.

The first player or team to reach Z wins the game.

  • 1 x game board entertainingly illustrated with Edwardian examples of words and phrases for each letter of the alphabet.
    112 x cards, each one carrying a passage from a different children’s book.
    1 x dice & 4 x playing pieces
