This is a PAIR of proper E30 race/rally/trackday coil-over converted front struts.
WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON (everything in the main WHITE BACKGROUND photo):
- Pair of reconditioned struts, converted to use threaded sleeves.
- Pair of new coilover platforms, lock rings, and spring caps.
- Pair of new low-profile shock-retaining rings.
- FREE s/h standard E30 shock inserts, condition untested but seem ok to use so included as-is - or upgrade/swap to GAZ (see below)!
- FREE s/h standard E30 strut tops, condition untested but seem ok to use so included as-is.
- FREE s/h set of pretty soft 2.25" coilover springs (maybe 150-175lb?), handy to just get the car rolling - or upgrade/swap (see below)!
ADVANTAGES:
- Raise and lower your car using the platforms/lock rings, no need to change springs.
- A wide range of springs available. You can start off with 250lb-ish springs on your standard shocks and progress to harder or adjutable shocks and swap the springs to suit very easily and cheaply!
- Due to the 2.25" ID springs these struts allow wider wheels than the more common 2.5" coilover struts.
- Also due to the 2.25" ID springs you can adjust camber and caster MORE before the spring fouls the body than 2.5" spring coilover struts.
- Weld-on threaded tube design, FAR stronger than the cheap versions which are held in place with grubs screws etc!
- The small "tabs" on on the strut for retaining the ABS wires etc are kept - no need to strap things to your struts with tie-wraps with this setup!
In terms of spring length 5" is best to clear wheels but needs to be HARD to avoid coil binding, 6" is the best compromise (maybe for a 60mm drop), 7" (maybe for a 35mm drop) or 8" is good if you are sure your wheels will clear or on a standard ride height rally car etc.

- We stock ex-demo and nearly new springs in limited lengths/poundages - £25.00/pr (225lb x 9" only)
- We have ONE pair of new ex-desplay UK made Faulkner 2.25" 9.0" long x 225lb springs on the shelf - £47.60/pr. These are just under standard 325i rate and would suite a 4 pot E30 316i/318i etc on the standard shock insert.
- We have ONE pair of new ex-desplay UK made Faulkner 2.25" 7.0" long x 650lb springs on the shelf - £45.60/pr. These are full-race hardness at over twice as hard as standard 325i, might suite a 3.5L converted car.
- New Ten Star 2.25"coil springs in the full range of lengths/poundages - £45.00/pr
- GAZ adjustable rate shock inserts - £199.00/pr (note these normally have a 4-week or so lead time as GAZ make them to order!) < 24/10/2009: IN HAND AND READY TO GO!
