what an amazing pair of vintage OVERALLS BOILER SUIT

all of the dungarees bib front overalls & BOILER SUITS we sell are genuine & authentic american workwear. these are a wonderful part of the history of america & denim itself. companies like lee wrangler levi made original dungarees and they copies these for the market in the 1970s and 1980s - many are still copied today. the ones we are selling are the original ones from which designs were copied. these really are the true sanforised preshrunk american union made ones from the 1930s and throught the war years of the 1940s. they are rare and the ones from the 1950s have a quality and character not found in modern jeans. we do not sell any from the 70s and 80s. the sizes are measured with waist size given of the person it will fit - the actual waist size will be bigger. they are all immaculate and have varying degrees of wonderful vintage fade. these are incredible vintage!!

THESE ARE GENUINE BLUE BELL VINTAGE OVERALLS AND ARE IN A NEAR PERFECT CONDITION 

THEY ARE BOIL WASHED AND LOOK LIKE NEW BUT THIS IS A GENUINE VINTAGE GARMENT

THE LABEL IS CREAM COLOURED WITH A BLUE CIRCLE AND A BLUE BELL LOG WITH GOLD LETTERING SIGNATURE

THE WORD SANFORIZED IS BENEATH THIS

 THE BOILER SUIT IS DARK INDIGO BLUE AND WHITE HERRINGBONE WEAV AND THE DENIM IS VERY STRONG FIRM AND WILL STAND UP TO ALL TASKS

 NO DEFECTS AT ALL ON THE DENIM  NO RIPS OR THE SLIGHTEST HINT OF FRAY

 THESE ARE OWNED BY A COLLECTOR WHO IS DOWN SIZING HIS COLLECTION AND THESE ARE RARE HARD TO SOURCE WONDERFUL VINTAGE DENIM

THIS CAN BE WORN OPEN COLLARED BUT CAN BE STUDDED RIGHT UP TO THE NECK FOR PROTECTION - THERE IS A ZIP TO CHEST LEVEL AND THEN THERE IS ONE HIDDEN STUD ON THE INSIDE ABOVE THE ZIP AND A SHINY BRASS BUTTON AT THE NECK WHCIH HAS A CROSS OVER CLOSURE - THE BUTTON IS SCRIPT ENGRAVED SANFORIZED

2 POCKETS ON THE CHEST - ONE OF THESE IS OPEN TOPPED BUT INSIDE IT THERE IS A SLIM HIDDEN COMPARTMENT OR FOR KEEPING TOOLS SAFE ETC

 THE OTHER POCKET HAS A FLAP  AND THIS THEN CLOSED WITH A HIDDEN STUD BUTTON

2 DEEP POCKETS AT THE SIDES AND THERE IS ALSO A COIN OR WATCH POCKET AT THE WAIST

SIDE ENTRY TO THE CLOTHING WORN UNDERNEATH

DOUBLE ENDED VERY LONG WALDES ZIPS WHICH ALLOW THE BOILER SUIT TO BE TAKEN OFF EASILY

HAMMER LOOP ON THE THIGH

2 GIGANTIC BACK POCKETS WHICH ARE REINFORCED AT THE BOTTOM

ACTION GUSSETS AT THE BACK FROM THE SHOULDER TO THE WAIST FOR EASE OF MOVEMENT

SHAPED CUFFS LIKE THE OLD ENGINEERS JACKET AND THERE IS A STUD BUTTON TO KEEP THESE COSED SAFELY WHILST WORKING

 THESE HAVE PROBABLY ONLY BEEN WORN A COUPLE OF TIMES AND WERE PURCHASED ORIGINALLY AS DEADSTOCK -

 THEY ARE NEAR MINT AND YOU WONT FIND ANOTHER PAIR QUITE THIS GOOD VERY EASILY

 TO BE BOUGHT BY AN ENTHUSIAST AND LOVER OF VINTAGE DENIM

 SOME PEOPLE WEAR THESE FOR FASHION - THATS COOL AND YOU WONT FIND MUCH MORE OF AN ORIGINAL PAIR THAN THESE

THE TAG IS TO FIT A 44 CHEST AND THEY FITTED A UK MENS LARGE TO EXTRA LARGE 42 - 44 CHEST WHO IS OVER 6FT TALL AND THE WERE ACTUALLY A LITTLE TOO LARGE UNLESS WORN OVER OTHER CLOTHING - IF YOU WERE WEARING THESE WITH JUST LIGHT JEANS AND A TSHIRT THEN A MANS UK 46 - XL WOUDL FIT THESE PERFECTLY

ACROSS THE SHOULDERS IS 21"

UNDERARM TO UNDERARM WITHOUT THE GUSSETS STRETCHED IS MORE THAN 27" SO THEY ARE 54" ROUND THE CHEST - THEY ARE BIG!

THE ACTUAL WAIST IS 42" AND AS STATED WERE TOO BIG ON THE MAN WHO WORE THEM - THEY WILL FIT 34 WAIST AND RIGHT UP TO APPROX 38" UNLESS YOU ARE A REALLY BIG GUY WHO JUST WANTS THESE AND WILL FIT A BIT LARGER - BUT YO U WONT BE ABLE TO WEAR MUCH UNDER!

FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NECK DOWN THE BACK TO BELOW THE WAISTBAND ITS 20" AND THE OUTSIDE LEG FROM BELOW THE WAIST TO HEM IS ALMOST 43" AND THERE IS A LARGE 2.5" HEM TO TAKE DOWN IF REQUIRED

THE INSIDE LEG IS 32" APPROX BUT THIS WILL DEPEND ON THE OVERALL FIT - THE PERSON WEARING THEM FOUND THEM JUST A BIT TOO LONG AS THE BAGGINESS MADE THEM LONGER - ON A MENS EXTRA LARGE THESE WILL PROBABLY FIT UP A 36" INSIDE LEG BUT SHOULD NOT BE TOO LONG FOR WORK ENVIRONMENTS FOR SAFETY REASONS

most of what i sell is vintage clothing and accessories and these are all in as new condition unless noted - minor things like dust in handbags or slight fray on denim is not mentioned but rips tears stains or defects which need attention will be mentioned. where possible everything will be clean and freshly laundered. leather items will be left for you to wax and restore where needed as this is part of the pleasure of vintage.
