Superb postal options for overseas buyers.
This offer is for a really useful set of six lovely Dessert Plates in this stunning pattern.
The blue ground is of a soft sky blue with a hint of lilac which has been applied to a lovely moulded fish scale body. There is also a very delicate image of a Seagull.
This size of plate makes great Service Plates when serving desserts and starters in crystal dishes - so please check out my other items ! and see photographs of 6.25" plates used as service plates for a great Webb Corbett Crystal Dessert Set.
These plates are a little larger at 6.75" and would also be ideal for a lunch time dessert.
There are no chips, or cracks.
The colours are very bright and clear.
Light use/storage scratches.
There are a few tiny imperfections typical of handmade items. Please note these plates are marked as seconds.
This is an ideal opportunity to extend your existing set or replace breakages.
My current set (which I keep adding to and all my daughters tell me they are really looking forward to inheriting!) seats 18. There are several shapes which I have at least 36 of. Side Plates are just so versatile that there is no way I could work with just 18.
For example I always set my table with a side plate for a hot bread roll. If I serve my starter in a Crystal Dish eg, something wonderful with big fat juicy prawns then I use a 6.5" Side Plate as the service dish. Similarly if I serve a Light Mouse dessert with Lange de Chat Biscuits in a Crystal Dish I use this great size of plate as a service plate.
I have also listed many other items in this pattern.

I will certainly offer very good postal discounts for multiple purchases.
Bing & Grondahl is a famous Danish factory making fine porcelains and was opened in 1853 by Frederick Vilhelm Grondahl. Grohdahl was an artist and sculptor. M.H. and J.H. Bing were successful businessmen in the city of Copenhagen and using the talents of Grondahl and the investment of the Bing brothers the company was launched.
Vilhelm Grondahl died during 1855 which should have meant the end of this young venture.
But the Bing brothers were made of strong stuff and despite some hard years they solved many production problems and finally established products that have stood the test of time.
Underglaze blue decoration commenced in 1886.
Rapid growth of the company was the result throughout the 20th century and Bing and Grondahl were able to open a second factory in 1949 to keep up with demand.
The firm has used the initials B & G and a stylised castle as part of the mark since 1898.
Bing and Grondahl’s porcelain collectibles are featured in the Buckingham Palace and the Royal Courts of Denmark, Sweden, and Great Britain. Additionally, many of Bing and Grondahl’s collectible items can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The company became part of Royal Copenhagen in 1987.
