For example keyboard rarely have balanced outputs guitars cannot be plugged directly to a mixer and placing a mic in front of an amp is not always ideal as it picks up ambient noise. Maybe the connections are not right or you have an unbalanced source you need to be balanced either way this is what the behringer di800 is a reliable solution. As an active di box the signal coming from the input is buffered with an amplifier and the input impedance of the ultra di is so high it doesnt affect the signal throughput at all. Equally good the output impedance is balanced and very low so doesn't pick up hum or noise. The transformer used by the ultra-di is behringer's ot-1 which guarantees distortion free clean sound and a flat frequency-response. In addition the op-amps as used in the di800 have a superior signal-to-noise ratio low distortion and linear performance. In summary the di800 offers eight high quality di channel inputs in a compact 1u chassis. Performance function and value all come together in the di800 making it a invaluable studio and stage tool.
