ABOUT XUBEIHONG : Xu Beihong(July 19, 1895 - September 26, 1953) (born in Yixing, Jiangsu)was a Chinese painter. Considered a modern master in China, his merging of Western techniques with classic Chinese approaches was unmatched. He is particularly known for his shuimohua depictions of HOURSES and BIRDS.

The Eight Horses is one of the most famous work of art in Chinese.

Xu Beihong was a master of both oils and Chinese ink. Most of his works, however, were in the Chinese traditional style. As an art teacher, he advocated the subordination of technique to artistic conception and emphasizes the importance of the artist's experiences in life.
