The HISTORICAL value of this item is real.  This item comes from the estate of the last President of the Marblette Company, Mr. Robert P. Trelc.  Mr. Trelc passed away in March of 2009 and SOME of his personal collection of Bakelite items are being EXCLUSIVELY auctioned.  You can Google "Robert P. Trelc" for more information. 

Bakelite production was ceased in the United States in the 1970s by order of the federal government.  So as you know, you'll not purchase this item anywhere else.  It's HERE AND NOW!
