This unique IRISH HERITAGE TUTOR book for pipes was developed for the beginning piper that has no prior musical knowledge. Students can play along with the CD for each lesson. The lessons provide an easy systematic approach which can be used to teach yourself or with an instructor. While the rudiments do not differ from Highland music, current tutors exclude Irish music. This book is intended to correct that deficiency!

Includes: basic rudiments; basic parade-type tunes; standard to modern bagpipe theory and execution; performance tunes; fingering; standard Irish ornamentation; helpful playing tips and historical notes; 73 songs

Songs include: Amazing Grace, Back to Donegal, Barney Brannigan, Bold Fenian Men, Brian Boru's March, Dawning of the Day, Fanny Power, Gary Owen, Harvest Home, Humours of Donnybrook, Kerry Dance, Let Erin Remember, Men of the West, Mysteries of Knock, A Nation Once Again, Donnell Abu, Rocky Road to Dublin, Rakes of Mallow, Solider's Joy, Star of the County Down, Wearing of the Green and more!!

This book has been the offical manual of the Colorado Irish Pipe Band since its inception.  It has been the band's basic music book and has been used by a number of bands across the country.  The Irish Heritage Piping Tutor has recieved high praise from the Irish Pipe Band Association in Dublin, Ireland.

REVIEWED by the Tartan & Green

Offical Publication of the Irish Pipe Band Association

"The book is very clear, attractive publication with the music notation very well laid out and easy to read. For pipers around the world seeking Irish tunes for the bagpipe, this book will be a very welcome addition to their music libraries."

About the Author

P/M Stuart Brann has forty years experience as a piper and a lifetime interest in Irish music. He was instructed in playing the great Highland pipes by Sam Grier, a graduate of the Army School of Piping at Edinburgh Castle and former Pipe Major, 24 Tech Squadron, RCEME. Sam, in turn, was a pupil of Donald MacMillan of South Uist. Stu not only learned how to play but how to organize , teach, finance and run a pipe band, founding The Drums & Pipes of the Colorado Irish.
