B&W DM70 Standard Speakers

B&W DM70 Standard Hybrid speakers (1969 - 1972)  your chance to own a pair of speakers that put B&W on the hifi map, they are in ok condition but i am selling them as a restoration project (i started but cant finish due to home commitments)

Speakers are 96% original 1960's/70's

I have had the bass drivers fitted with new surrounds and work perfect, i have also sanded and danish oil'd one cab and the two electrostatic housings (all will need more coats as finish is not as good)

The ES housings have had new strips of vaneer put on the face edge by myself and looks good, i have also added some new grill cloth to the front mesh (i have enough to cover the front baffles on the bass cabs)

Both electrostatic panels work fine with no light show or crackle from what i have seen/ heard when playing them, one control unit works fine and tested the panels with, the other however has a fault on the EHT PCB, when the panel is plugged into the control unit the volume is really low! i have spoken to an expert about this problem and for £90 a new EHT board can be bought (Shackman.de)  You could also buy the electrical components that make this PCB up and fit them your self but it is entierly up to you.

I have a foldr on my pc with information and specs about these speakers and were sent from B&W themselves, there is also a wire schematic diagram of the electric/audio system (it also lists the components of the EHT board!)


Any viewing wlcome and you are also welcome to listen to them before you buy but you must bring an amp and cd player  unless i can borrow one that is.

Update i have had an email from a person who restores these speakers and he has told me that the problem should be down to one blown resistor  if this is the case i will buy and fit it  then test
