Bowers & Wilkins Loudspeakers are still very much the British Loudspeaker, The 602 Series 3 Stand Mount Speaker in this auction is one such speaker, designed very much for sound quality rather than down to a price, using the B&W Honeycombe construction of cabinet - a design that produces an acoustically inert cabinet.
These B&W 602 Sereis 3 Speakers I have had for many years, Pampered with Oooodles of TLC (Polished regularly by my other half), they come in the B&W Box, with full instructions and the standard B&W Reflex 'Bung' should you wish to fit it. They are in Exemplary condition throughout. They are of course designed for bi-wiring - and indeed bi-amping - if your budget will stretch to another power amplifier or two more monoblocks - All speakers so equipped really do benefit from Bi-wiring, But........ Bi-amping takes speakers to another level of audio seduction.
The B&W 602 Series 3 do benefit from the use of good solid stands. One word of warning though, they can present a difficult load to less modern amplifiers, the 602 S3's drops to some 4 Ohms in the lower midrange - not uncommon amongst smallish stand-mounters - the vast majority of modern amplifiers will cope well, you should be looking at amplifiers capable of 50W RMS minimum for the best results, ideally 100 W RMS.
They are not music fussy, treating Classic, Opera and Rock with equal ease and aplomb.
Treat yourself to a modern legend; Looked after, the B&W 602 S3's will give you years of Musical Pleasure, a Good speaker will disappear into the background - leaving just the music, these are one such a loudspeaker.
Do use the best Loudspeaker Cable you can afford, again, all loudspeakers and Hi-Fi systems will benefit from using the best of cables.
