A perfect MINT VINTAGE condition set of glasses. A very nice pair of SHOOTING GOGGLES, Aviator Outdoorsman Shooters; original lenses and frame and presented today with the original late 1940's Ray Ban trademarked hard case, sporting a green felted metal insert with wooden arm spacer. The case has seen better days and the snap head is loose, but otherwise performs perfectly and is original to this set of glasses.

Hallmarked: RAY-BAN B&L 1/10 12k GF on the top brow paddle and the interior hinge mounts.

These are B&L Ray Ban USA's ORIGINAL Yellow Lensed Shooting / Flying / Driving / High Visibility glasses in SUPERB MINT VINTAGE CONDITION. Super clean, scratch free lenses and shiny gold classic shooters ring frame. This gold filled process pre 1957 series frame truly expresses the quality of these USA made beauties, accurately dated to the 1947/48 series due to the hallmarking and the general manufacturing treatments along with the original case and bladed, hand fashioned temples.

These fantastic early series glasses are fitted with LARGER SIZED 62mm KALICHROME C lenses, a terrific find here today in such pristine condition. The ARISTA GOLD FILLED PROCESS FRAME is made up of gold that is permanently bonded to core metals specially alloyed for both strength and malleability. The frame shows limited signs of age and long storage. The classic CABLE WRAP ARMS are straight and true and carry their original comfort sheathes. All frame welds have been found to be sound with the quality of the metal work and the heavy brow bar setting these beauties apart. The frame construction is perfect.

The precision ground and highly polished GLASS B&L KALICHROME C, yellow high contrast lenses are free of waves or any other defects that could distort vision or cause eye strain. These lenses are famous Worldwide for their ability to intensify and enhance the visual spectrum. Sporting enthusiasts and Pilots everywhere swear by these glasses when in difficult visibility situations. These hard to find KALICHROME C lenses are guaranteed genuine and in mint vintage condition - they are certainly awesome. The glasses afford a crystal clear field of view with no marks to report, at all.

All POLYMER ACETATE parts are in great shape and the brow bar is just like new. The nose rests are lovely in an Opalescent acetate, highly desirable and visually stunning with no signs of wear as with all the frame components - super clean. There are slight points of tarnish at the weld points, but this is just due to the high silver content of the welding amalgam used in the production period. This is easily removed, but I leave the patina of age issue to the buyer - the glasses rock and have a rugged appeal unlike any other sunglass in history.

Identical vintage versions go for in excess of $400.00 in up market Antique/Optical shops and for in excess of $1250.00 in the Far East, in used condition.
