This item is an Avantek GaAs FET amplifier, frequency range 4.0GHz - 10.5GHz (see measurement plot below).  This is a high quality device of robust construction.  A high efficiency heat-sink is fitted, which should not be removed unless other cooling arrangements are provided.  This is a 'medium power' amplifier, having a typical saturated output level of +27dBm (500mW).

As with all microwave amplifiers, some performance variations from one device to another are to be expected.  Also, during the life of such a product, manufacturers occasionally make changes to production methods and/or the design, causing performance differences to occur.  The part number alone is no guarantee of performance!  For this reason, we test every one.
