An unusual and rare Austro-Hungarian silver and red and black enameled ladybird snuff box, realsitically modelled, the interior additionally white enameled, plain hinged lower cover, makers mark plus the dogs head mark for 800 silver, a quality piece made in Austria-Hungary c1920 by KK.

At 2.4 inches / 6 cm long, weight is 1.6 Troy oz / 50gm. Apart from wear commensurate with age, the condition is very good, two small circles where the top layer of enamel is chipped (but not gone through to the silver underneath, as it is thick), and the cover does not stay closed (requires adjustment, but it is so delicate this should be left to a professional silvermsmith of required).
