Austin Suite 1960s Art Deco Style Figured Walnut Wardrobe / Armoire
This very good quality Austin Suite wardrobe is a lovely piece of 1960s furniture, and it has a strong Art Deco influence in it's design.
The figured walnut veneered doors have a delightful pattern of grain, and situated above is a nicely detailed raised panel, while the deep walnut banding which runs down the inside edges of the doors further enhances the appearance of this piece, as do the subtly reeded front corners.
A pair of hugely ornate pierced brass handles with over sized back plates are fitted to the doors, so too is a working lock with key.
The spacious mahogany lined interior is fitted with 2 solid teak hanging rails, and the shelf and ample floor space provide added convenience, while the deep internal dimensions mean that clothes do not get crushed when the doors are shut.
The condition is very good, with only minor marks consistent with age and use to mention, including a few rubs to the front.
The height measures 76 inches.
The width measures 48 inches.
The depth measures 21 1/2 inches.
The internal depth measures 20 inches.
