Published by J.M. Dent & Co [London] with 549 numbered pages, 24 tipped- in colour plates mounted on heavy stock olive green paper with captioned tissue- guards, 12 full page tinted illustrations and 66 drawings within the text; this is an outstanding example of this highly illustrated book

The original green boards with gilt decoration to the front are in Very Good condition with corner knocks, and very slight rubbing to the front board and to the top and bottom of the spine.  The gilt to the front board and spine is very bright and the spine is NOT darkened as is usually found with this book – extremely unusual

The pages are top edge gilt with the remaining edges untrimmed.  The Title Page is dated 1907, all tipped- in plates with the captioned guards are present as checked against the list in the book.  Pages are extremely clean with very occasional and light foxing - more prominent to the edges which is usual
