Vintage art deco Uranium Glass Sugar bowl & Cream Jug c1930

A very nice set of old vintage uranium impressed glass
The sugar bowl has a floral theme with a chrome base measures 4" dia 3" deep
The Cream jug measures 2.5" by 2.5"
No chips are cracks very nice conditions.

Uranium oxide is used during the manufacture of the glass to give it its green/yellow colour.When put under ultra violet light the glass glows .Very little uranium glass is produced today due to the price of uranium oxide,its production dropped after the mid 1940's due to 'other' uses for uranium being found and subsequent government restrictions on the raw material.Though restrictions were lifted ,other alternatives for yellow colouring were found and its use in glass faded,so all in all, the pieces can only get harder to find.
