Art Nouveau Alphonse Mucha Female Form Deco 4 Prints

In this four print set Alphonse Mucha shows beautiful women in the flowing and elegant style for which he is famous.

This print-set is as follows : 

1. Salammbo / Incantation

Salammbo was the daughter of Hamilcar, the barbaric ruler of Crathage; in 1862, Gustave Flaubert wrote a romantic novel with her as a subject.

2. Salon des Cent 1896

The original poster is one of the artist's first works to follow his idealized model of the female form. It advertises the twentieth exhibition of the group of artists who exhibited at the premises of the art journal 'La Plume.' At the publishers suggestion, Mucha was persuaded to print the poster unfinished.

3. Cassan Fils

Cassan Fils was an early French Lithographer. Alphonse Mucha combines the real with the imaginary in this design where the female form is real but the muscular printer is a symbolic figure, representing the printing industry. A border of eyes in the background represents the multitude of readers that consume output from the printing trade.

4. Study of Drapery

 The original work in crayon and white crayon gouache was created by Mucha in 1900.

The original works were painted in late 1890's by the Czech Painter Alphonse Mucha. These giclee prints are on quality canvas card media. Prints vary in size, between approximately 11.5 by 6.5 inches; 8 x 10 inches and 11.5 by 4.25 inches, and ready to frame.

Meet the Artist, Alphonse Mucha (Self Portrait, below)

Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) was a prolific Czech painter considered the 'father' of the Art Nouveau movement. His style influenced painters, graphic artists, draughtsmen and designers worldwide and his work epitomizes Art Nouveau.

Cassan Fils (below)

In 'Cassan Fils' Alphonse Mucha's painting shows a semi nude maiden with beautiful flowing red hair, along with a muscular printer, and is an exquisite advertisement for the printer (Cassan Fils). Cassan Fils was a French lithographer that represented some of the best artists of the day.

Damaged on arrival is almost unheard of! We are able to provide 'Get it Fast' (Next Day), so please choose the appropriate service at the checkout.

Overseas Destinations (Non UK Customers): All orders will be sent (suitably protected as above) by Royal Mail (Please choose the service level you want at the checkout), usually the same day, but please remember the time difference between yourself and GMT in the UK.

We also offer Airsure (at £9.95 per order, taking 3 - 4 days, but not all destinations can accept this service, if you want this service please ask) and International Signed for service. Please choose the correct level of service required at the checkout. We ship daily to the United States and Canada (about 5 - 6 days), and Europe (about 3 - 4 days), Rest of World (about 5 - 7 days.) Please allow longer at busy times of the year such as Christmas. Airsure and International Signed for mail is electronically tracked until it leaves the UK, and is dispatched on the first available flight and receives a registered (signed for) delivery at the destination address.

We offer optional insurance for your items. Loss in the post is very rare, however this doesn't help if your order is the exception. Please think carefully when deciding if you should insure your order, especially if your order is a large one. We may require purchasers from certain high risk international destinations to pay an additional insured signed for fee of £3.70 per order. If in doubt, please ask. We aim to send all orders within 24 hours (weekends and holidays excepted).

We offer Free Shipping for each additional item you purchase of the same size and paid for at the same time on one eBay invoice. We do not recommend rolling 10 or 11 by 8 inch prints to send along with Larger items in a postal tube. Anything over A4 size (11 x 8 inches) will be rolled and sent in a strong postal tube, and we will combine additional items of this size at no extra shipping cost. We can not combine multiple items of A4 and A3 (and A3+) sizes, they will be sorted to size and combined into 2 invoices.

Please be aware some items are 'FREE Shipping' to overseas destinations by 'Surface Mail'. If you choose this delivery method, please note that this can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to arrive if you live in the Southern Hemisphere, even longer at busy times such as Christmas. If you want to receive your order quickly please select the 'Paid For' Airmail option instead.

Print sizes are approximate, and may include a white border around the print, which will vary in size depending upon the originals proportions. ie. a square original may have a larger border top and bottom. A narrow tall original may have a larger border each side. We stock pre-printed signed celebrity photos, None of the Celebrity Signed Photos in our listings are originals.

Payment: If you live outside the UK please note we only accept instant payment methods such as PayPal, Nochex and the like.

Combined Shipping: We are happy to combine same size purchases made over a period of up to 7 days, that we have issued an eBay combined shipping invoice. If you want to combine shipping to save costs do not pay for items individually as we do not discount shipping charges from subsequent invoices.
