This item is part of the Around the World in 80 Days auction in aid of BBC Children in Need.

An aspiring artist, Louise had always wanted to learn how to paint properly, however she had never had the time. She had no previous experience in painting so before setting off on this adventure she took a 2 week course to learn the skills required. She used photos from her trip as inspiration. This expedition gave her the perfect excuse to get out her paintbrushes, and on the 10 day boat trip across the Pacific on the ‘Hajin Dallas’ she had plenty of time to put her lessons into practice with stunning results.

This auction is for “Morning in the Mongolian Mountains” by Louise Minchin (Oil on canvas 41 x100 cm)

“Morning in the Mongolian Mountains” is an impression of the stunning view from the top of the gigantic steel statue of Genghis Khan. This was what Louise and Bill could see as they waited for Julia and Matt to arrive for the hand-over of the carpet bag. You can see Louise start this painting in the Around the World in 80 Days programme.

We will despatch your painting to you using an insured carrier and robust packaging will be used. However if you prefer you can arrange to collect from the BBC Children in Need central office in London, W12.

Please Note: The paintings are not yet dry, we wont be able to despatch them until they are, which will be the week commencing Monday 16th November.
