Carved from one piece of  Holly (Ilex aquifolium).  The carving itself has been executed to show the Tern perched on a rock (or cliff face) with its wings straight in a characteristic pose for the species. approx. 5 inches tall with the Tern being 4 inches from tail to wing tip.
