This is a white 3rd generation iPod (40GB) purchased in New York in 1993. It comes complete with all the original packaging and accessories, as detailed below. It is in excellent condition considering its age - there are very minor hairline scratches and scuffs on the on the back panel. The battery, however, no longer holds any charge. I have never tried to replace the original battery. It has been used exclusively in its charging dock (supplied) for the last few years. If you wanted to use it independent of a dock then you would need to replace the battery.

Be aware that being a 3rd generation model the charging cable is of the FireWire variety, not USB as with modern iPods. The charger itself has a US 2 prong plug. I have always used it with a US->UK plug adapter (not supplied) with no problems.

The iPod has been reset to its factory settings (software version 2.3) and contains no music.
