The Apex Practitioner is a modern extremely well made microscope with a professional standard laboratory specification.
 
It is used for looking at specimen slides and can magnify from x40 to x800. 
 
Just look at the features:
 
  • Inbuilt mains illumination (240v) This is rheostat controlled 6v 20 watt (bright enough for any magnification, you alter the brightness to siut the specimen!)
  • x4, x10, x40 Royal Microscopic Standard achromatic objectives - they're good!
  • x10 and x20 widefield eyepieces - huge area!
  • Magnification range from x40 to x800!!
  • Full Mechanical stage with drop down coaxial controls to allow precise movement of the specimen slide. Double vernier scale so that you can record the map reference of that interesting feature!
  • Coarse and fine focus controls - coaxial!
  • Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm and focus control - lots of light, lots of definition
  • Starters pack of prepared slides, blank slides and coverslips included free
  • Head rotates
