Apex Explorer Plus Microscope

The Apex Explorer Plus is a 3D stereomicroscope packed with many features. 3D stereomicroscopes are ideal for those who want to see the world around them, without having to make microscope slides. Watchmakers, jewelers, and collectors are a few examples of possible users, and the microscope is also perfect for dissecting plants and insects. This microscope benefits from dual illumination, meaning that the user can study slides using the transmitted illumination option (the light shines up through the stage plate), or using the incident illumination (the light shines down onto the object).

The Apex Explorer Plus is suitable for insects, coins, stamps, pottery, flowers/buds, plant diseases, electronics etc. For the young scientist (below 11 or so), a stereomicroscope is a ideal start in microscopy.....it's instant and shows a level of detail that they can relate to straight away, and what’s more they can be used unsupervised. Because the Explorer Plus has transmitted illumination and can magnify up to x80, you can also look at slides to - providing the subjects are not too small. Insect legs, plant sections are fine but blood and bacteria would be too small!

We are giving away an ingenious little specimen clamp so that you can hold an object in the jaws of the clamp and rotate and change its position easily to examine all of it. The clamp screws into the base of the microscope in place of one of the stage clips.
