This is a really handsome late Georgian chest of drawers. It dates to around 1800 and is made in oak. The chest has turned mahogany columns to the front edges. It has wonderful original brass work to the drawer fronts and stands on very decorative ogee bracket feet. The sides have recessed panels and as you would expect with all Georgian furniture, the drawers are made with fine dovetail joints. Incredibly there are no expansion cracks to the top or sides and the chest is a wondeful colour from two centuries of polishing. The chest has been divided for ease of handling but assembles back together easily and well (see photo) and will get up the narrowest of stairways. This is a particularly handsome piece and I bet you will not have seen as pretty a front to a chest as this in a while.
The chest stands 46 inches high and is 23 inches deep and is 52 inches wide.
