~*~This textile is a very beautiful, 100% hand-woven roll of antique/vintage European hemp/linen  roll  ~

This roll of hand woven Antique/ Vintage European hemp/linen measures  17.4 yards ( 52.2 feet)  long by 23.5 inches wide~*~*

This is one of the most beautiful rolls of hand woven European linen I have ever seen! The striping pattern runs about every 15 inches 23inches and then 10 inches ~ ~*~This roll would have been used to make towels! The stripes in this amazing roll run up the length, and also run the width!~ Very beautiful striping pattern. The measurements of the stripes that run the width, ~ ~ The color of the stripes is a wonderful soft blue, the tone of the linen is a pale cream~ The weave is nice and dense, very heavy weight and slightly more finely woven than most. This is an extremely high quality hand woven textile~ VERY beautiful! ~*~  This is a heavy weight roll, PERFECT for blinds, bed valances, bedding, upholstery, bedding, pillows, curtains etc.  ~*~* Perfect for so many wonderful uses, curtains, upholstery, table runners you name it ~*~* totally machine washable, machine wash, tumble dry! ~ ( please see below) I have attached some photographs showing some examples of my textiles in use! ~ ( not included in this buy it now) ( shipping insurance to the USA included in the shipping charges)

 ~*~ These rolls are 100%  machine washable, warm..if there is visible dirt, just add a bit of Oxywash! They are so easy to wash, simply spin dry then remove when wet. Roll the linen tightly and let sit overnight. In the morning unroll and allow to dry naturally~ this presses the linen and there is usually no need to iron ( unless you prefer it perfect). They can be dried in a dryer also. When drying in the dryer, just be sure to check that the roll isn't getting tangled up on itself ( check regularily) I like to add Downy Ultra to my last rinse cycle for an added touch of softness~ It is also simple and inexpensive to bring to have profesionally cleaned and pressed! ~*~ Pure linen or hemp rolls tend to have no shrinkage, the rolls with cotton tend to have some shrinkage  . These rolls are tough and sturdy, built to last.....and last and last!! ~ The average age of these rolls is about 100 years old, they are wonderful textile treasures~*~ Hemp is built to last for many many generations making it a lovely textile for creating family heirlooms~*~

I have had many years of research and hands on experience with these wonderful textiles. I describe items as Antique if I estimate the age to be 100 years of age or greater. EBay currently define an antique as dating to 1930 or earlier. I describe items as Vintage, as per the dictionary definition, if I feel the textile has age, or is outdated or old-fashioned, dating from the past. If I use both Antique/Vintage when describing a textile, it is because I feel the textile is most likely 100 years of age or greater, but may fall just short of that date. I often work in collaboration with other colleagues and textile specialists to ascertain the approximate age of my textiles, however ultimately any statement of age is a matter of best judgment only~*~I also use my best professional judgment to ascertain the fiber content of my textiles, using sight and feel and where possible historical information and context to help me to identify plants used in a particular era.
