~*~A stunning piece of textile history~*~ This lovely pillow sack is 100% hand-woven and comes from Eastern Europe and dates around the turn of the century. These lovely textiles are found today in dowry chests, having been kept safe for many years~*~ The hand- weaving is beautiful folk art patterns. It is a special sack that would have been used on special occasions to celebrate births, weddings etc~*~ . The band on the bottom has been woven with dyed cotton and the body of the sack is a wonderful wonderful hemp and cotton mix. The band has a lovely star motif~*~ highly decorative~ This is a totally unique and wonderful sack. This is a truly special textile of very very high quality. This sack has such a lovely festive quality~ would make a wonderful bolster pillow, sofa pillow or perfect as a floor pillow!!! ~*~ The color of the stripes are earthy red, deep indigo blue and cream background. !! ~ my designers like to open the sacks and use each side as the front for two matching pillows~ natural linen for the back~ a stunning and wonderful textile treasure. ~*~(sack D)

This sack measures 3.31 feet by 22 inches (101cm by 56cm) but is double sided, so really twice as long!) . ~This sack has light storage dirt that will wash~ This is reflected in the price~ I would recommend dry cleaning for this sack as it dates late 19th century and I just can't be sure about the fastness of the dyes. I have washed many by hand with success, however one did bleed slightly, so please test first to avoid dissapointment.
