3 entirely hand stitched panels from an early Victorian unfinished, or taken apart, petticoat/skirt. The cream linen/cotton fabric is beautifully and expertly hand worked with a variety of drawn and tied threadwork Reticella lace. The panel for the front of the skirt has some of the finest and most complex Reticella lace work I've seen. The 2 back panels are darted and shaped into a waistband. An interesting study piece for lace enthusiasts or a rewarding needlework project to finish off. Condition is good and undamaged but the panels do need careful laundering. Length 35 inches and would make up to a waist of aprox 30 inches
