Description: You are bidding for a stunning and very beautiful antique sewing box. This is one of those items that always makes people say wow I love that box.

We suggest that this was made around the early to mid 1800's and possibly made by a good German or English cabinet makers

The box has been made with a richly veneered body with the use of Walnut, Mahogany, Fruit woods and possibly Satin or Beech

The front and the lid has a panel that has been boarded with a Tunbridge ware style inlay with a 6 sided hexagon surrounding an escutcheon or mother of pearl blank

When the box is opened it reveals a quilted blue interior to the inside of the lid which would have been used to hold the pins or needles. A tray is suspended in the main box that can be finished how you want either with sections or a material

When the tray is lifted out a large blank area is revealed. This box was originally bought by a wealthy family and used as sewing box but today it could be used for keeping family memories, collections of items just about anything that you want keep in a stunning and magnificent looking piece of the furniture

It has a lock and no key but a good key and lock shop will be able to find you a key

This is a stunning Antique and very orated box that would certainly compliment any collection or display.

Condition: We have looked at this in depth and it is of our opinion that it is in very good condition as shown in the detailed photos below. Checked:(sp29/07/09)

Postage

We buy all our packaging, the p&p will include the cost of (boxes, polychips, tape & other) we don't make money on postage sometimes we estimate incorrectly, if the postage is more than the actual cost we will pay the difference.
If the postage is less, then the difference no matter how much will be donated to the NSPCC if on receipt of your item you wish to be credited the difference then please email within 7 days ( this is only applicable on amounts over £2)
It is the responsibility of the delivery company to deliver your items. We are not responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit and all claims must be made against the delivery company used. We however want you to receive your item in the condition it was sold, if any item is lost or damaged in transit please notify us with pictures within 7 days and we will investigate the matter fully and take the relevant action.
Ireland, Postage to Ireland is not the same as mainland UK, parcelforce charge us extra for going over water usually no more than an extra £10 to the quoted UK postage charge. smaller items sent to Ireland by Royal Mail first class is the same as UK mainland stated. Delivery (larger items)

Anything and everything can be delivered the main obstacle is cost. We have a network of delivery agents who frequently deliver up and down the country, the prices for mainland UK are between £70 - £100 depending on distance and location. We can also have the item delivered to the overseas but this can be expensive, please find the estimated price before bidding. We believe there should be nothing stopping you from bidding
Hand delivered costs are paid to the driver as we make no money on this service we don't want the paperwork.
Payment for hand delivered items must have cleared before delivery there is no cash on delivery service

Non payment WILL be acted on as your bid is final and forms a contract in accordance with ebay and British law. We WILL pursue you for the money and costs that are incurred which will in most cases include and not be limited to, Court Costs, Debt collection agency costs and lost of interest on all monies. Please note even though we pack very well and brace pictures very securly, we are not insured for glass broken in transit. If the glass is broken in transit we will pay towards the new glass (The price will be found by contacting a local glass provider) we will not refund for the item.
