Antique Silver Salt Spoons Large Bateman 1819 Georgian

This is a Pair of Large Antique  Georgian Solid Silver Salt Spoons.  They have the thread pattern running around the outline of both the front and back of the handles and they also have the Old English pattern to the back of the handles. They do have an armorial engraved in the top part of the handle but these are quite faint now  (one more than the other) but they are of a ram on top of a crown. They are made from a good guage of silver and have clear hallmarks.  Although there is no Assay Office mark they can only be London in conjunction with the other marks.

Makers Marks: W.B (William Bateman)            

Dimensions:     4 inches long in total, the bowls just under 1 inch in diameter.  They weigh a total of 35g  

Condition:      They are in very good condition with just some very minor little black discolouration marks to the base of the bowls, but these are very minor and only noticed on very close inpsection, and there is some very light surface scratching which is only to be expected on metal items and commensurate with age and use          

Remarks:     A good pair of  large antique Georgian solid silver 190 year old salt spoons and ideal spoons to go with large solid silver salts. 

Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used.  Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark.  I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in "as new condition".
