The Button Goddess loves Goddess buttons.

This auction is for one antique Victorian era pierced brass button depicting the Goddess, Fortuna.

According to the Big Book of Buttons, this is Fortuna, goddess of fortune and chance, with her cornucopia of riches and her wheel of fortune. She watched a combat between Hercules and Achelons, who had assumed the form of a bull. During the contest one horn broke off, which she took and filled with her treasures.

Button is made of pierced and stamped brass attached to a brass back plate and has a brass wire loop and plate shank. Button measures 1 1/8” in diameter. It is in excellent condition.
