Paxman French Horn.
This is a genuine vintage french horn. It's was my Grandfathers prize possion who used to play this, apparently it's from the early 1950's although I can't say an exact date for sure.
There are three valves and valve (for the thumb I think). I do not know whether this is a b flat or other.
Years ago my Grandfather had some work carried out on it so some of the tubing varies in laquar as can be seen in the picture. There are a couple of tiny dings to the horn but nothing that stands out (I just thought it's best to mention it) with none on the bell.
It also comes with the case which is solid and secure but old and worn, and a mouthepiece (but I don't think it's the original one).
I really don't know anything about instruments, I'm simply trying to describe this the best I can, but I think the pictures describe this instrument best.
The worn valves look ok but they have not been used for a considerable time and seem to have seized up. It's probably something or nothing. I was told to unscrew it and lubricate it however I don't really want to start fiddling around with this incase I do something I should'nt! I will leave that to the someone who knows more than I do.
The bell Has engraved makers name etc as can be seen in the picture. The tubing has the numbers "3912" if this means anything to anyone.
Buyers are welcome to come and have a look at it.
