All parts are solid heavy brass with the exception of the two springs to the slide guide plate and the pinion shafts.
All parts fit together and are obviously from the same lantern.

Condition and Operation
The lenses are constructed with two element groups in each tube and there are no chips, cracks or easily visible scratches. They need cleaning and the thread to the front ring of one of the 9" lenses and the thread to the rear ring of one of the 6.5" lenses require attention as they have been crossthreaded at some point.
The telescopic parts are smooth in operation, just a bit tight in places. The rack and pinion adjustments are very good. The original lacquer is generally intact but has been rubbed off in some places.
Generally these are a superb example of Victorian engineering
