Antique London 1802 Solid Silver Sugar Tongs

Description: You are bidding for a stunning and very beautiful pair of solid silver sugar tongs. They are fully hallmarked for London 1802 and has the maker’s initials for the much sought after silversmiths William Eaton

The sugar tongs are long and slender with small spoon ends typical of the period which is unlike the smaller tongs of the late 1800's

The tongs are simple with not engraved or chased patterns giving these a simple but elegant manner. They do however have an engraved name at the top which reads Thetis or as it is dated 1802 the t could be an S so it could read Shetis, most probably a surname in this case

This is one item from a large collection of silver that had been collected over the years. We have been instructed to sell this collection in order to recover funds.

This is a stunning piece of silverware that would certainly compliment any collection or display.

Size: (inches) 5.5" long and weighs 34gms

Condition:  We have looked at this in depth and it is of our opinion that it is in a good condition as shown in the detailed photos below.

The pictures are good and show a good representation of the condition, we never hide areas of concern and you are more than welcome to visit us here at the shop to examine the piece.

Condition

Payment

• We accept cheques (preferred option) Postal orders, Paypal, Bank transfers
• Cheques are to be made payable to: want2auctionit Ltd
• We will also accept cash on collection only. Please note as we welcome any one wishing to collect their item we will not release it until payment has fully cleared.

Postage

• We buy all our packaging, the p&p will include the cost of (boxes, polychips, tape & other) we don't make money on postage sometimes we estimate incorrectly, if the postage is more than the actual cost we will pay the difference.
• If the postage is less, then the difference no matter how much will be donated to the NSPCC if on receipt of your item you wish to be credited the difference then  please email within 7 days ( this is only applicable on amounts over £2)
• It is the responsibility of the delivery company to deliver your items. We are not responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit and all claims must be made against the delivery company used. We however want you to receive your item in the condition it was sold, if any item is lost or damaged in transit please notify us with pictures within 7 days and we will investigate the matter fully and take the relevant action.
• Ireland, Postage to Ireland is not the same as mainland UK, parcelforce charge us extra for going over water usually no more than an extra £10 to the quoted UK postage charge. smaller items sent to Ireland by Royal Mail first class is the same as UK mainland stated. Delivery (larger items)

• Anything and everything can be delivered the main obstacle is cost. We have a network of delivery agents who frequently deliver up and down the country, the prices for mainland UK are between £70 - £100 depending on distance and location. We can also have the item delivered to the overseas but this can be expensive, please find the estimated price before bidding. We believe there should be nothing stopping you from bidding
• Hand delivered costs are paid to the driver as we make no money on this service we don't want the paperwork.
• Payment for hand delivered items must have cleared before delivery there is no cash on delivery service
• You can also collect if you wish please call first to arrange this.

Please note before bidding
Non payment WILL be acted on as your bid is final and forms a contract in accordance with ebay and British law. We WILL pursue you for the money and costs that are incurred which will in most cases include and not be limited to, Court Costs, Debt collection agency costs and lost of interest on all monies. Paypal credit backs or bounced cheques will be treated very seriously and will in most cases lead to legal action being taken.
