This Impressive Jardiniere is by the English Potter George Jones & Son.
The information I have found is this:
They were manufacturers of decorative earthenware and majolica-style wares c.1861-1951. In about 1907 the Trent Pottery was renamed the Crescent Pottery after 1924 most of the ware bore the name "CRESCENT" - some ware had the name CRESCENT as early as 1893, however the marks on this pot are probably pre 1921 as they have "ENGLAND" and not "MADE IN ENGLAND"
It is in excellent condition for it's age with no apparent cracks or chips, even though it has been much loved over the years, it originally belonged to a Great Aunt of mine so I can vouch for it's authenticity.
It has what look like hand painted Black stripes & possibly 'Transfer Print' floral decoration
It is 32cm diameter & 25cm high
This is a fabulous item!
