This buy it now is for amazingly beautiful Antique French curtain panel, ~ this wonderful, museum quality textile measures 9.1 feet long or drop on the side with the antique trim, 8.25 feet drop on the other side, 8.25 feet wide at the bottom, 5.24 feet wide at the gathered top (278cm drop on the side with the antique trim, and 252 on the other side, 252cm bottom width, 160cm gathered top width)~~*~*
I have just returned from an amazing trip to France, and I feel so lucky to have been offered this amazing textile. This panel came from a large Chateau in France, however I am not allowed to divulge which Chateau! This stunning floral panel was once used as a large curtain panel, perhaps for a very large doorway. This textile is made up of 3 widths of printed panels, sewn together in the middle to make a large curtain panel. This panel still has one long side of antique French trim remaining and it runs the drop on the RIGHT side of the curtain ( please see photograph 8) The trim is a pure coton tassle trim~ The top of this textile has a lovely linen tape that holds the gatheres together at the top and was used to hang the panel. There are small rust marks on this tape showing where it was tacked to the bed or wall~*~ The fabric that makes up this panel is extraordinarily beautiful. You can see that this textile is slightly longer on one side than the other, however the hem at the bottom contains all fabric if one wanted to straighten this~ a WONDERFUL printed textile~*~ The background is a charcoal black, with the most wonderful floral print or pinks, taupes, coffee, cream, antuque pink, faded earthy red. It is Stunning~*~ the fabric is a very finely woven, 100%, light weight cotton~*~ This textile is museum quality, just wonderful. It would be a conversation piece in any room for many years to come~*~ French Flair at its best~*~*~ One could certainly hand this panel as is, or of course seperate the three fabric panels to make two curtains for one window plus fabric to spare!~ or of course there is SO much fabric on this panel to be used for many wonderful projects~*~ ( Panel FOUR ) This textile is one part of a set, for the other textiles being offered from the set, please see my other listings~*~
This textile is in beautiful, condition. This panel is in original, unwashed condition. You can see in photograph 4 that the very top of the textile was protected by a vallance, therefor sligtly different tone than the bottom of the textile. When held to the light one can see some very very tiny holes. There are a few small holes in this HUGE panel, generally wonderful wonderful original condition ~*~ The bottom hem is all hand stitched in tiny tiny stitches!! ~*~ This textile has been gently faded with time, just extraordinary~*~* ! ~*~ ~*~*
