This is an super EDWARDIAN inlaid mahogany bureau, which is of lovely petite proportions. It has been made out of super mahogany and has lovely inlaid detailing.
The interior to the bureau is nicely fitted with a central drawer with two pigeon holes above and is flanked by two sections of pigeon holes which provides lots of handy storage space. All the pigeon holes are finished with nicely shaped freezes and the drawer has a brass knob.
Moving to the exterior, the bureau has a lovely fall which has been very nicely inlaid around the edge and had a wonderful conch shell inlaid to the centre of the fall which sets it off beautifully.
Going down the bureau there are three nicely proportioned drawers, which make this a very practical piece of furniture. The drawers have nice swan neck handles. Lovely inlay has been used around the edge of the drawers to match the fall and which sets the drawers of beautifully. The same inlay has been used to the top of the bureau which shows just how much attention to detail there is in this piece.
All the drawers have nice fine dovetail joints and all the drawers are oak lined again showing th quality of this piece.
The bureau is then raised on lovely bracket feet.
This bureau would look fantastic in any room you choose to place it in. The bureau is in very good condition as can be seen from the photographs.
The approximate dimensions are:
- 27.75 inches wide
- 16 inches deep.
- 38.25 inches high.
As can be seen from the above dimensions this bureau is of lovely petite proportions.
Overall it is a wonderful EDWARDIAN mahogany bureau which is of lovely petite proportions, and would grace any home, so happy bidding.
